Summers Past - The showcase of photographs from the
National Archives of Australia vividly reminds us of Australians'
enduring love affair with the sea. For those who grew up in Australia
in the 1950s and 1960s, these photographs should gently stir
memories of idyllic summers spent at the beach. Pine Rivers Heritage

- 1 September 2010 (Wednesday) - Jewellery Workshop
Fundraiser for Pakistan: Have fun, make a beautiful
necklace, enjoy morning tea AND support UNICEF in their efforts to
help victims of the flooding in Pakistan. Join Frances of
Jubeadilation to make a stylish lariat style necklace. Learn how to
wire wrap your beads to give them extra glamour. This necklace is
full of surprises. The workshop is $39 including all materials,
instruction, take-home crib sheet and morning tea. All profits are
going to UNICEF, and raffle tickets for a bracelet made by Frances
will also be available, with the raffle will drawn at the workshop.
The workshop runs between 9.30am and noon at The Hungry Feel Eating
House in Buderim (opposite the Primary School in Middy’s Complex) on

Patricks Road State School Spring Carnival
from 10am to 4pm. This year we
will have a full complement of show rides and activities in Side
Show Alley catering to children of all ages including: the animal
farm, giant slide, the dodgems and of course Show Bags. Activities
such as sand wizards, face painting, and ice your own cupcake will
be available. There will be a
variety of stalls selling gifts for Father’s Day or something
special for yourself, including scrumptious cakes, homemade sweets,
jams and preserves, 2nd hand books and clothes, and plants. See our

Gallery and learn about our school and its commitment to Educational
Excellence at our Expo. Many local groups will also be joining us on

2010 FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo,
presented by the Australian Government and supported by Construction
Skills Queensland will be held at Suncorp Staduim, Entry Via Gate C
on Caxton Street, from 9am to 2pm. The expo will provide Indigenous
job seekers and school leavers in south east Queensland with the
opportunity to connect with a selection of Queensland’s most
prominent employers, education and training providers, together with
a host of former State of Origin heroes, in one place for one day.
The event will feature appearances by a host of former Queensland
State of Origin stars including Gene Miles, Allan Langer and Sam
Backo.

Diabetes Buzz Day
- Take part in the national fundraiser that aims to help those living
with or at risk of developing diabetes. Held annually on the 3rd Friday

Redcliffe First Settlement Festival - a full
weekend of events that will blend history, culture and culinary
skill with all the action and adrenalin of the 2010 Redcliffe
Superboat Grand Prix. From 11am on Saturday there will be live
music, markets, children’s workshops and a chance to see the
superboats up-close. My Kitchen Rules contestants – Tanja and Gen –
will cook-up a storm alongside some of Moreton Bay region’s best
chefs with cooking and teppanyaki demonstrations at Jamieson Park.
An impressive fire-drumming and firework spectacular will add a
final splash of colour to what promises to be a fun-filled afternoon
by the bay. The festival will shift into top gear on Sunday, when
major celebrations run from 8am to 4pm along Redcliffe Parade,
Redcliffe. Local eateries will serve up a feast for the Big Bayside
Brekkie, and customers at participating locations will go into the
draw to win some great prizes. One of the highlights will be the
re-telling of Queensland’s first European landing at Redcliffe and
traditional Aboriginal beach welcome. Combined with a great display
of vintage vehicles, antique fair, the Great Gatsby Picnic and
jailhouse rock stage, there is sure to be a touch of nostalgia on
the day. The festival will roar from past to present before lunch
with the 2010 Redcliffe Superboat Grand Prix. Festivities will be
held at Jamieson Park from 11am to 8pm on Saturday September 18,
with major celebrations at Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe from 8am to
4pm on Sunday September 19

Caboolture Lifeline Bookfest at the Caboolture
Centenary Lakes Indoor Basketball Courts at Apex Park on Morayfield
Road in Caboolture. Whether
it is fact, fiction, fantasy, horror, historic, futuristic, hobbies,
novellas, short stories, biographies or anything else you can think
of, the Caboolture Bookfest will have it. The Bookfest will open
each day at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. with a flood of volunteers
madly restacking for the next day! This year due to its popularity the Bookfest
has grown and needs more volunteers to join the hard-working team.
Volunteers for the Fest are needed from the 15th -17th and then the
21st to 22nd September to assist with packing, sorting, moving or
setting up and down. More volunteers are needed for the running of
the Fest from 18th – 20th for pricing, register sales, security and
bag sealing, sorters and of course the flexible relief team for
breaks. If you have

by Tudor Gates from 'Sexe et Jalousie' by Marc Camoletti Synopsis
Bernard has discovered that his wife, Jacqueline, is having an
affair with Robert. Being a reasonable businessman, Bernard gives
Robert two options to compensate for the affair - either he will
sleep with Robert's wife in order to keep things even, or he will
have him killed. Robert chooses to let Bernard sleep with his wife.
Scheming to woo her, Bernard arranges an evening meal with both
couples present — much to the frustration of their overworked and
underpaid maid, Marie-Louise. This is when the fun really begins!!
