  • 12 August to 31 October 2010- Summers Past - The showcase of photographs from the National Archives of Australia vividly reminds us of Australians' enduring love affair with the sea. For those who grew up in Australia in the 1950s and 1960s, these photographs should gently stir memories of idyllic summers spent at the beach.   • 1 October (Friday) 2010 - National Walk to Work Day - Walk all or part of the way to work in order to achieve better health and cleaner air. Sign up today to become a Walking Class Hero or Corporate Ambassador - register at The Pedestrian Council.
     
  • Throughout October 2010 - Ocsober - A fundraising program that challenges Australians to cut out alcohol for the month of October. Participants can enter individually or as part of a team. Funds raised will go to Life Education Australia to help educate children about health, drugs, and alcohol. Register online.

  • 9 & 10 October 2010 - October Orchid Show - Hosted by the Bribie Island Orchid Society. Entry is $4, which includes morning or afternoon tea. Entry is $3.50 for groups of 10 or more. Open Saturday 9 October from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and Sunday 10 October from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm. The show will be held in the Student Centre, Bribie Island State High School, First Ave, Bribie Island.

  • 11 October 2010 - Are you interested in learning Auslan? We offer Auslan community classes in Strathpine every school term. The course runs for eight weeks - one evening per week.
