• 1 to 30 June 2009 - MS Read-a-thon - An annual event that aims to encourage reading while raising awareness and funds for Multiple Sclerosis. (See also No School Today: Fundraising Activities.)

• 3 June (Wednesday) 2009 - State of Origin - Game One at 8:00pm at Telstra Dome, Docklands, Melbourne. (See State of Origin.)
   
• 5 June (Friday) 2009 - World Environment Day
   
• 5 June (Friday) 2009 - Chaplaincy Support Breakfast - A fundraiser for chaplaincy services in Pine Rivers primary and secondary schools. There will be a guest speaker, auctions and raffles. Tickets are $25 each. 6.30am to 8.20am at Norths Leagues & Services Club, 1347 Anzac Ave, Kallangur. Bookings are essential, contact 3205 0555.
   
• 5 to 8 June 2009 - The Dreaming Festival - Showcase of Indigenous arts from across the country and around the world. Includes performing arts, ceremony grounds, traditional healing, art galleries, and more.

• 7 June (Sunday) 2009 - Core Series 09 - Local BMX riders and skateboarders will compete for prizes. 10.00am to 5.00pm at Albany Creek Skate Park, Old Northern Rd, Albany Creek.
   
• 7 June (Sunday) 2009 - Swap Meet Show and Shine - The event includes a swap meet for car parts plus a car show. 6.00am at the AFL Grounds, Beerburrum Rd, Caboolture.
   
• 8 June (Monday) 2009 - Queen's Birthday - (Public Holiday all states except WA.)

• 17 April to 14 June 2009 - Our Rock 'n' Roll Days 1955-1965 - Exploring the Australian experience of the rock 'n' roll phenomenon from 1955 to 1965. Pine Rivers Heritage Museum, Old Petrie Town, Dayboro Rd, Kurwongbah. For museum opening times visit Moreton Bay Regional Council.
   
• 14 June (Sunday) 2009 - Samford on Show - Entertainment by Dan Parsons and Back To The Future along with local community groups. 10.00am to 4.00pm at John Scott Park, Main St, Samford Village.
   
• 19 & 20 June 2009 - Woodford Show - Annual Show/Rodeo held in June each year. 
   
• 24 June (Wednesday) 2009 - State of Origin - Game Two at 8:00pm at ANZ Stadium, Sydney. (See State of Origin.)
   
• 26 June (Friday) 2009 - School winter holidays start (See AU school holidays.)
   
• 27 June (Saturday) 2009 - Wamuran Q150 Celebration Day - A commemorative sculpture will be unveiled. There will also be yoga demonstrations, markets and a barbecue. • 28 June (Sunday) 2009 - Spectrum Annual Fun Run and Walk - The distances are 2km, 5km, and 8km. There will also be food, entertainment and more. Early bird entry is $15 per adult ($20 on the day), $5 per child/student/concession ($10 on the day), and $30 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children ($40 on the day). Proceeds will be returned to Spectrum Organisation to assist people with disabilities. An entry form will be available closer to the date and can be obtained from Moreton Bay Regional Council offices or Spectrum Recreation & Fitness Centre.
