July 2008 in Pine Rivers, Redcliffe & Caboolture

  • 4 to 5 July 2008 - High School Musical Presented by Brisbane Junior Theatre Auditions will be on the 21st of June from 1 to 4pm with rehearsals being held on the 30 June until the 4 July from 8.30am to 5.30pm.  Performances be on the 4th of July from at 6.00pm and 8.00pm and on the 5th at 4.00pm and 6.00pm at 1 Coorparoo Rd off South Pine Road in Warner.
     
  • 5th July (Saturday) 2008 - Foster Carer Recruitment Campaign & Family Fun Day 12.00pm to 2.00pm at Pine Rivers Park, Gympie Road, Strathpine
    Caring, compassionate people who have room in their home and heart for a young person in need. Real Carers - Really Needed. Come along for a great afternoon of fun and entertainment, and register your interest in becoming a foster carer. Free face painting.  Baby barnyard animals. Proudly sponsored by Oxmar Properties, Hornets AFL Club, Qld Nurses Union, Online Encounters Pty Ltd, Thiess, Curves Strathpine, Moreton Bay Regional Council and others to confirm. Northside MPs are assisting the Minister for Child Safety, Minister Margaret Keech in searching for foster and kinship carers.
     
  • 5 to 13 July 2008 - Abbey Medieval Festival A week of festivities commences with the famous Banquet on Saturday, 5th July, and concludes with two fabulous days of the Medieval Tournament held over the weekend of 12th and 13th July, in the Year of Our Lord 2008. The Abbey Museum holds the festival primarily for educational and cultural purposes and to raise funds to maintain its priceless collections. The festival is the largest authentic medieval event in Australia. It spans a thousand years from Europe's Dark Ages to the High Middle Ages, roughly AD 600 to 1600. In 2007 approximately 18,500 people participated in the week-long festival, while around 14,500 visitors enjoyed the weekend Tournament. This year they had hoped to move to a new permanent festival site. However due to heavy rain and other issues the festival will be at the College grounds again this year.
     
  • 6 July (Sunday) - Guide Dogs Queensland Open Day from 10am to 3pm at its Breeding and Training Centre, 1978 Gympie Rd, Bald Hills.  Visitors get a behind-the-scenes look at how Guide Dogs are trained, see puppies of all ages and learn more about vision impairment; the mobility aids and services the association provides to Queenslanders, free of charge
     
  • 14, 15, 16 July 2008 - Brisbane North Institute of TAFE Information Nights - get into the workforce, upgrade your skills, make a career change, or prepare for further study. Call 07 3259 9009 for more information.

  • 18 to 20 July 2008 - Farm Fantastic Rural Home and Lifestyle Expo: entertainment, demonstrations, workshops, animal parades and much, much more.
  • 19 to 20 July 2008 - TSXPO (TERTIARY STUDIES EXPO) Meet with representatives from ALL Queensland Universities as well as many interstate and overseas universities in addition to government agencies, defence forces, private education providers and loads more.   • 19 & 20 July 2008 - Samford Show
     
  • 20 July 2008 - Jetty to Jetty Fun Run. One of greater Brisbane's most scenic runs from Woody Point to Redcliffe Jetty. A 10km, 5km and 3km event to choose from. Raising funds for the Endeavour Foundation.
  • 25 July (Friday) 2008 - Schools Tree Day is a Planet Ark with a number of schools becoming involved each year.
     
  • 27 July (Sunday) 2008 - Camp Quality Bayside to Bald Hills Walk, Run or Cycle Event - annual non-competitive event where you can walk, run or cycle distances from 6 - 15km from Brighton to Bald Hills.   • 27 July (Sunday) 2008 - Einbunpin Festival -  Sandgate's community celebrations featuring local bands, street performers, community group stalls and a Mullet Tossing Competition. 9am to 4pm, Einbunpin Lagoon Parklands, Brighton Rd, Sandgate.
