Australia Day in the Moreton Bay Region

To be confirmed 2011 - Aussie Beach Party - The celebrations begin
with a free breakfast. Entertainment includes skydivers, live bands,
kite flying demonstrations, whip cracking, games, thong throwing,
beach cricket, and fireworks. 7.30 am to 7.30 pm at Brennan Park,
Toorbul Street, Bongaree, Bribie Island.

To be confirmed 2011 - Australia Day at
Samford Museum -
Featuring a sausage sizzle, live music and entertainment,
vintage and heritage vehicles, an army kitchen and oven and a
3/4 sized Cobb & Co Coach. Admission is $6 for adults and $2 for
children. The Great Samford Horse Ride will leave the museum at
7.00 am and the celebrations will be held from 9.00 am to
4.00 pm.

To be confirmed 2011 - Australia Day Cadet March & Flag Raising
Ceremony - The start of the Moreton Bay Region Australia Day
celebrations. Cadet Units from the Air Force, Army and Navy open the
ceremony by conducting a march along Irene Street, Redcliffe.
Following this is the raising of the Australian, Queensland, and
Council flags. A "Cadet of the Year" award will be presented to a
cadet from each unit. Free event from 7.30 am to 8.15 am at the
Moreton Bay Regional Council Administration Entrance, Irene Street,
Redcliffe.

Arvo - Bring a chair and blanket and enjoy a great line-up
of live music including the Royal Bounty Bush Band, Dissonance,
Rough Red and Made in Australia’s Aussie tribute show. Watch the
JC Epidemic motocross displays and stunts, learn how to crack a
whip like an expert, draw Your Vision for Australia at the flag
art workshop and make some fun craft. There’ll be old-fashioned
kid’s games, lamington eating competitions, Moovin’ Balloonin’,
Dreamtime reptile shows, an animal farm and free rides, all
concluding with a fireworks spectacular at 8pm. Relax at the
Aussie Beer Tent and enjoy a wide range of food and refreshment
options from on-site vendors. Time: 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Pine Rivers
Park, Gympie Road, Strathpine.

Fun & Aussie Sun - Enjoy free entertainment, activities for
kids, competitions and amusement rides. 10.00 am to 4.00 pm at
Suttons Beach Marine Parade, Redcliffe.
